Adopt a Child for Christmas

Adopt-a-Child, an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization, will soon distribute gifts to more than 900 children this year. Guidance counselors participate in recommending families that are in need because of illness, unemployment or other hardships. Parents or guardians submit a list to Adopt-a-Child and include the items that the child would need or appreciate.

Adopt-a-Child is pleased to welcome our new president, Penny Narain. We look forward to serving many more families in Lake County under her leadership. We extend heart felt gratitude to our former president, Mary Beth Bruss, for her many years of service to Adopt-a-Child. During her tenure, the number of children and families that Adopt-a-Child helped grew every year, and last year we assisted 336 families, and provided gifts to 830 children.

Adopt-a-Child is an all volunteer organization; all of its board members donate their time and service. We appreicate their dedication and commitment!

Cash donations can be sent to Adopt-a-Child, P.O. Box 1311, Mount Dora 32756. Donations to Adopt-a-Child for Christmas may also be made through PayPal. During the Christmas season items can also be dropped off at the post offices in Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares, Umatilla and Sorrento.
